Pre & Post Care Instructions

To ensure you get the most out of your treatment, here are some things you can do before and after! Preparation will enhance your comfort, ease your experience, and allow your mind to relax during your treatments. For certain treatments, pre- and post-care steps will make a huge difference in the effectiveness and longevity of your service. Lets get to it.

Pre Care

  • Microneedling

    • Use a pre-care kit for 14 days prior to treatment.
    • Avoid any laser treatments or any sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.
    • Do not exfoliate or use any acids (Tretinonin, retinoids, salicylic, glycolic, etc) for at least 7 days.
    • Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, etc, for at least 1 week, to minimize bruising.

Post Care

  • Chemical Peels

    • Avoid exercise (sweat an be an irritant) hot tubs, saunas or raising your body temp for 24-48 hours.
    • Avoid washing your face after your peel until the next day.
    • You may add the sooth and protect balm, if your skin feels dry
    • Use a mild cleanser and heavier moisturizer for 2 weeks.
    • Avoid consuming alcohol for 48 hours (it can dehydrate your skin)
    • No heavy makeup for 24 hours
    • Use only mineral sunscreen (professional) for the first 48 hours, then you can use regular sunscreen after.
    • Avoid exfoliating or using products that can be irritating to the skin (retinoids, AHA’s salicylic acid, etc) until skin is fully healed and back to normal.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure/tanning beds
    • DO NOT peel, scrape, scratch, scrub, pick or pull the skin.
    • Do not wear tight fitting hats or headbands.
    • When your skin returns to normal you can resume your normal skin care routine.
  • Microneedling (and RF Microneedling)

    • Avoid exercise (sweat can be an irritant) hot tubs, saunas, or raising your body temp for 24-48 hours.
    • The area treated may be pink and mildly inflamed (similar to a mild sunburn) for the first day.
    • Keep skin clean and free of cosmetics for 48 hours.
    • Avoid any sun exposure for 24-48 hours. After that use lots of sunscreen and reapply frequently!
    • Avoid exfoliating or using products that can be irritating to the skin (retinoids, AHAs, salicylic acid, etc) for 14 days.
    • Avoid consuming alcohol for 48 hours (it can dehydrate the skin)
    • Do not wear tight-fitting hats or headbands.
    • Drink plenty of water
  • Hydrafacial

    • Avoid raising your body temp for 24-48 hours
    • Drink plenty of water.
    • Avoid aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids for 14 days.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 24-48 hours. Be sure to wear sunscreen and reapply frequently.

  • Microdermabrasion

    • Avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours after treatment.
    • Use professional sunscreen so as to not clog your pores.
    • Avoid any physical activity that will raise your body temp, including hot tubs, saunas etc.
    • Avoid aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids for 14 days.
  • Laser Hair Removal

    • Avoid raising your body temp for at least 24-48 hours. No exercise, hot tubs, saunas, hot showers, etc.
    • Avoid exfoliating for 72 hours
    • Do not wax in between treatments.
  • Waxing

    • Avoid any physical activity that will raise your body temp for 24-48 hours.
    • No hot tubs, hot baths, saunas etc for 24-48 hours.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure and self-tanning products. If you are in the sun wear a high SPF and reapply frequently.
    • Wear clean loose-fitting clothing.
    • Avoid exfoliating or scratching the treated area.
    • Avoid touching the area with dirty hands.
    • You may apply aloe or a cortisone cream to soothe the area.
  • Dermaplaning

    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 72 hours.
    • Avoid extreme heat for 3 days.
    • Avoid chlorine for 1 week.
    • Do not scrub or exfoliate for at least 7 days.

  • Spider Veins

    • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or any anti-inflammatory for at least 48 hours to prevent the risk of bleeding.
    • Avoid hot baths, saunas, hot tubs, etc for 48 hours.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 1 week. Use a professional SPF.
    • Avoid exercise or strenuous activity for 72 hours.
    • Avoid being sedentary, keep moving.
    • Wear a compression hose for 3-5 days if treating the legs.

  • Skin Resurfacing

    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 4-6 weeks. Use a professional SPF of at least 30, sunglasses, and a wide-brim hat, even when in the car or by windows.
    • Wait at least 12 hours to wash your face, avoid using hot water.
    • Avoid doing any activity that will add heat to your face. No, exercise, hot tubs, saunas, etc, for 24-48 hours.
    • Avoid wearing makeup for 7-10 days.
    • Avoid using any acids (Tretinoin, glycolic acid, etc) for 4-6 weeks.
    • Do not smoke, it slows the healing process.
    • Use a lotion with hyaluronic acid in it to keep your skin hydrated.

  • IPL

    • Avoid exercise (sweat can be an irritant) hot tubs, saunas, or raising your body temp for 24-48 hours.
    • The area treated may be pink and mildly inflamed (similar to a mild sunburn) for the first day.
    • Keep skin clean and free of cosmetics for 48 hours.
    • Avoid any sun exposure for 24-48 hours. After that use lots of sunscreen and reapply frequently!
