Chemical Peel

CHEMICAL PEEL 101
Who are peels for?
Chemical peels are for everyone. Whether your skin is dry, oily, combination or even sensitive, there is a chemical peel treatment that will work for you.

What do peels improve?
Chemical peels are safe and effective in improving and preventing most skin conditions:
  • Aging - improves signs of aging, including laxity and wrinkling, improves surface texture and radiance while hydrating the skin.
  • Acne – improves surface texture while reducing breakouts.
  • Discoloration – Improves surface texture & overall skin tone. Reduces large areas of discoloration & targets dark spots.
  • Sensitive skin/rosacea – Improves surface texture, redness and sensitivity.
Why do I need a peel?
Our skin naturally exfoliates, gently shedding dead skin cells so subtly that most of us don’t even notice. However, as we age, this process tends to slow resulting in a dull complexion.

How do peels work?
Chemical peels speed up the exfoliation process, encouraging cell turnover that leaves the skin looking fresh and healthy. The result is exfoliation after a treatment, often seen in the form of peeling or flaking that lasts a couple of days.

Ingredients in the peel solution are also working to create new cells that function properly, not only visibly improving the skin, but correction from within.

When do I get a peel?
Chemical peels are usually recommended once a month, paralleling the skin’s natural 28-day cell turnover process for the best results. Depending on your skin concern, your esthetician may recommend them more or less frequently. Most chemical peels have little to no downtime, allowing for treatments that won’t disrupt your schedule.

What are the benefits of a peel?
Chemical peels have many benefits, some that can be noticed, and some that subtly occur under the surface of the skin.
  • Reduced fine lines and wrinkles
  • Controlled oil production and fewer breakouts
  • Diminished discoloration and a more even skin tone
  • Reduced inflammatory response
  • Increased cell turnover process
  • Overall brightened skin tone
  • Softer, smoother skin

CHEMICAL PEEL MYSTH VS. REALITY

Myth:
Chemical peels make your skin hurt.
Reality:
Chemical peels are formulated with unique ingredient blends that work with your skin to allow for comfortable treatments without sacrificing efficacy. The result is increased cell turnover and fresh, healthy skin is revealed.

Myth:
Chemical peels are just for wrinkles.
Reality:
Chemical peels can improve and prevent most skin concerns, including discoloration, aging, and even rosacea and acne.

Myth:
Chemical peels leave you red in the face and require a lot of downtime.
Reality:
Chemical peels leave you with a healthy glow, not bright red. They also have a minimal downtime. Some guests even schedule treatments during their lunch break!

POST-PEEL EXPECTATIONS

Everyone peels differently. The amount of visible peeling you experience does NOT determine how effective your treatment is.

Light peeling = Exfoliation on the cellular level.
Moderate peeling = Some visible exfoliation over a few areas of the face
Heavy peeling = Intense exfoliation experience over several days.
