IPL Pigmentation brown spots

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

  • What is IPL Skin Rejuvenation?

This skin rejuvenation treatment uses pulses of intense light energy to treat sun damage, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and improve the tone and texture of your skin. IPL treatments gently heat the deeper layers of the skin and stimulate the production of collagen to improve the overall quality of the skin.

Conditions that can be treated by IPL include:

    • Acne
    • Age spots
    • Broken capillaries
    • Enlarged pores
    • Facial redness
    • Rosacea
    • Sun damage
  • How long does a treatment session last?

IPL treatment sessions typically last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the condition and area(s) being treated. There is no downtime associated with this non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment and most of our patients immediately return to their regular routines.

  • How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments to achieve your optimal results varies from patient to patient. Most of our patients see the best results with a series of three to five treatment sessions scheduled three to five weeks apart. Some patients may require additional treatment sessions in order to treat specific conditions and/or achieve their desired results. Results may vary.

  • Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime associated with IPL treatments, but some patients may experience a darkening of pigmented lesions that have been treated before they peel or flake off. We recommend patients limit their sun exposure and use additional sun protection in the days following their treatment session, as your skin will have an increased sensitivity to the sun.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

  • About Laser Skin Resurfacing

One such treatment that we offer is skin resurfacing with the erbium YAG laser. This is an advanced treatment that can reverse the signs of aging and will leave you looking very refreshed with a youthful and glowing complexion.

While this is a laser treatment, it is gentler than many lasers that are used in various treatments. As it is so gentle, skin resurfacing with the Er:YAG is a safe way to banish wrinkles and other tell-tale signs of aging. As well as removing any signs of aging, it has also been used to reduce the visibility of scars.

  • What to expect

During your treatment, an Er:YAG laser will be used to emit energy onto the skin. This will be absorbed under the skin, which is where damaged and age tissue will be. The effect of this energy is a cellular response that occurs naturally, and will cause more collagen to be produced, which will make the aged and damaged tissue to start to heal and restore itself. The result will be healthy and fresh-looking skin. Wrinkles and age lines will be reduced, and any blemishes will also vanish as well.

After your skin resurfacing treatment, the clinician will apply a bandage. The skin will be quite sensitive, so the bandage is just to protect it and to make sure that it doesn’t get infected. You will need to wear this bandage for about one week. After this week and once the bandage has been removed, be sure to apply the ointment that you will be given after the treatment. Not only will this reduce any soreness, but it will also encourage the skin to keep on renewing even after the treatment.

  • Am I a good candidate?

Laser Tattoo Removal

  • About Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser therapies have been used for some time to remove hyperpigmentation from the skin for medical reasons, and they can now also be used to remove tattoo ink. Laser light is applied to the desired area which breaks up the pigment in the tattoo, destroying all of the ink at a cellular level and helping it fade from sight.

The color of your tattoo will be one of the factors that your specialist uses to decide on how many sessions you will need. The duration and number of sessions will also depend on the size of the tattoo as well. The bigger it is, the longer the session and more laser pulses will be required.

  • Is Laser Tattoo Removal Right For Me?

If you are interested in getting a tattoo removed, book a consultation with us. During this appointment, a specialist will take a look at the affected area and will decide on the best course of action for you.

They will inform you of your treatment and how many sessions you might expect to see the best possible results. You will also need to let the specialist know if you have any health conditions that they might need to be made aware of as these might determine your candidacy.

  • What Can I Expect After Treatment?

There are very little side effects associated with tattoo removal. Some patients may experience mild soreness, swelling, or redness in the treated area. However, this usually resolve themselves after a few days once the skin has healed.

If you want to try to speed up your recovery after the tattoo removal, you should avoid applying any heat to the area, such as from hot baths, showers, or saunas. It is also highly advisable to apply sunscreen to the affected area, especially when spending extended periods of time outdoors.

Vascular Reduction

  • How to get started with vascular reduction treatment

Before you have your vascular reduction treatment, you will need to take part in a consultation with a specialist. He or she will look at the problem area to examine the veins.

The specialist will also be interested to hear as much as possible about your family history and any other medical treatments and courses of medication that you are currently going through.

Using all this information, he or she will be able to assess how many sessions you will need and the results you can expect from them.

  • How does it work?

When you go in for your treatment sessions, the specialist will use a technique called photothermolysis on the veins and blood vessels in the affected area. They will shine light in very short bursts onto the blood vessels, which will damage their walls. Once the walls have been damaged, the veins will then start to break down and become a lot less noticeable. If all goes well, they should turn completely invisible. Don’t worry about any surrounding tissue in the area, as the light bursts won’t affect anything other than the targeted blood vessels.

One of the advantages of going through vascular reduction treatment is that the results are visible immediately. As soon as the light has been applied to the area, you should be able to notice a reduction in the visibility of blood vessels and veins. These results will also last for up to a year, so there’s no need to continually go back for repeat treatments.

  • What happens afterwards?

Once you have had a session of vascular reduction treatment, you might notice some slight redness around the affected area. There could be some swelling too. This shouldn’t be too uncomfortable, though, and most of the swelling and redness will have disappeared within 24 hours.

Applying a cool pack to the area can help with the healing process. Applying aloe vera to the area can also help reduce the redness and swelling as well. During this 24-hour period, it’s advisable not to take hot baths or to scratch or rub the area as it could aggravate it and cause the recovery period to lengthen.
